Massive theft on planning stages for Chinese assets in Italy. As I said in the beginning, if China allowed Italy to steal Pirelli, Italians would grow bolder

Meloni Seeks to Shrink Chinese Holdings at Key Italian Companies

Obvious responses are forced divestiture of Italian holdings / shares in Chinese companies, higher tariffs on Italian companies, etc.

But perhaps the best response of all is to do nothing and issue a warning instead about investing overseas; Chinese entities really need to be investing more in Chinese companies.

I have no idea why you are so upset over someone protecting their legitimate rights.

As you pointed out, his equipment isn’t exactly cheap. How do you think he funds that? His day job will help, if he has one, but a lot of people who spends that kind of coin on hardware are also looking to generate income from their hobby if not doing it professionally. And that is what the watermarking is for.

If I was the editor of a legitimate publication and likes that picture and wants to use it in my publication, I now know who to contact to get a clean picture, part of the standard deal that goes with that is working out fees and acknowledgments.

We should just be grateful that we get to see the advertisement samples, and not unreasonably wanting to get other people’s work for free.

If you really want a clean version of that picture without water markings, you yourself can reach out to the photographer and ask to buy a copy. It probably won’t cost much for personal uses, but then you wouldn’t be allowed to post that clean version all over the internet, as then would be professional customers can just download that picture instead of having to pay the original photographer.
I get his logic, the man has to make a living. I just find it extremely amusing that, even before I read all the other comments, the first thing I thought to myself when I saw the pictures was "oh shit, he watermarked the best parts!"

By that logic, is he giving the PLA a percentage of every picture he gets paid for? What about their - and by extension the Chinese taxpayers' - legitimate rights?

Copyright belongs to the photographer, not the subject.

If the PLA wants to earn a cut, they can name their price for photo shoots with fighters and there won’t be a shortage of people willing to pay. But there are very good reasons China banned the PLA from business and money making. It’s their job to fight and win wars, not generate a profit.

Time for the nuclear option against Italians.
