Ok hear me out... I have a hypothesis (based on all deduction, no evidence) that neither Chinese shipped intended on ramming anyone. 3 things to keep in mind:
1) In videos prior to the ramming, the video shows the Philipino boat to be very close to 164, but further away from (and ahead of) 3104, 3104 could have the intention of catching up to it.
2) If 164 actually rammed the Philipino boat, then given the size (and height) difference, the boat would capsize at best, and broken down in 2 (or more) at worst. There will be casualties from the capsizing for sure. Chinese Navy has not shown a willingness to use such tactic and force.
3) the boat is too small for good visual from 164 bridge, if they are as close as one of the earlier videos have shown, then most likely 164 bridge doesn't actually see the boat visually, again, making the intentional ramming aspect of the operation very suspicious.

Based on those 3 trains of thoughts, I believe 3104 wants to chase the boat and close the distance, with 164 wanting to block, but no intention of ramming. Here's my hypothesis:
- The Philipino boat sped up and overtook 164 while being very close to it, and cut across its bow at very close distance
- 3104 was tunnel visioned on the chase and didn't realize how close they are to 164, and couldn't make it in front of 164
- 164 was more or less travelling straight this whole time, but didn't have good visual on the boat itself

Let’s not engage in Vedic Winology please. A fuck up is a fuck up, plain and simple.

I know the west was eventually gonna turn on India but the pace they have done it in such a short period of time is amazing. Trump hasn't even finished his first year and it's already like this.
Trump has corporate background. Corporate management absolutely detest folks who talk the talk but can’t walk the walk, especially when the company is doing poorly financially.

Just realized that I posted in the wrong thread, so post has been moved. But no, I'm not saying it's not a fuck up, clearly someone messed up, but I find the idea that PLAN wants to use 052D for ramming purposes quite ridiculous.

It is, I wonder what happened to all the frigates? Considering the speed of the pcg craft, it needs to be chased by speedboats like the type 22 missile carriers.

But corporate management is addicted to hiring inferior Indian labor in order to save a few bucks. Or perhaps that is Trump's master plan? Tank the Indian economy so US corporations can hire even more Indians at even lower wages?

Who tf is the incompetent captain in charge???!!!
I hope this incident is a wakeup call for the Chinese navy and coast guard to have a better joint command.
Also, armour of the hull of all CCG ships should be massively buffed (especially they are facing Jap navy ships too).
More PLAN warships should be heightened in patrolling all of SCS, any further incursions from now on is not acceptable.
Either ram or fire 130mm warning shots.
Why the f...is it that when anything bleep happens against the Chinese military or government all the experts and master at just about everything comes out of the wood work offering both doom and gloom as well as their sagely/expert advice of what China should, ought, and must do to achieve the desired outcome. As if to suggest that China and it's corresponding political and military services are bereft of any trust, expertise...In other words, the concerns raise make China appear more than a paper tiger but a cross hair away from total collapse!!

Yet, we have witness failures after failures from countries that have been hyped as the vaunted super power, a has been power, a pretend supapowah, without the accompanying concerns and gnashing of doom and gloom!! If China is this weak what else is there to be concerned with?

It has nothing to do with that.

Russia cannot allow KAMAZ or Ural to go bankrupt. They are important and not just to the civilian sector but also the military one.
Some truck imports might also have been waived of the need to have ERA-GLONASS after the sanctions when there was a truck shortage, they also waived safety features in automobiles, but that is not the case anymore. There is a glut of supply.
I agree with anyone countries desire to ensure their national champions (in whatever industry) remain standing and strong but not in the manner and process the way Russian government actions have been cited as doing. Not even the U.S. in its height of arrogance under Trump is this delusional and lacking in applying due process.

I firmly believe (backed by historical and contemporary evidence) that Russia is acting on impulse rather than establishing some sort of mechanism symbolizing the supposed respect and partnership it has with China. I mean, if this is how Russia acts even during its time of need towards China's businesses one can only surmise and assume it would have acted like it's historical predecessors against China when it's very weak or heavily distracted.

If it wasn't for their bazillion nukes, Russia should have seen their days numbered.
