Only in Dai's dreams. Micronesia is a complete US vassal. If there is even a small hint of a Chinese base, US military will be invading within 1 week or CIA couping the leadership. China has ZERO true strategic power in outside the second island Chain due to overwhelming US military dominance.

Yes, you could argue China has contested that dominance practically due to PLARF missiles or much more advanced PLAN. But China is still basically bottled up by the first island Chain islands all being US vassals. China can only have real influence in countries like Micronesia if PLA navy has demontrated overwhelming dominance and double triple the numbers of Carriers, destroyers and other forces outside first island Chain compared to US navy. Only then, the leadership in these countries will have the confidence to challenge the US and be open to a Chinese base.

Basically, China needs to boost its numbers massively if they want to matter outside the first island Chain. And you can't do that with a paltry 1.5% GDP budget. If US is spending 1 trillion in military, China should be spending atleast 500 billion in nominal budget.
Although the president at the time did call the 2008 Urumqi riots a terroirs attack unlike the west.

If Russia disbands, we're looking at NATO encroachment up to China's northern border.

As incompetent as they are, Russia cannot be allowed to lose this war.
If Russia disbands, first thing China should do is to march into Outer Manchuria to reclaim it. Also take more dominating posture over Mongolia too to start the long road to re-annexation of that region in the far off future.

If Russia disbands, you would have greater odds of success and more goodwill by paying off Outer Manchuria and Mongolia to incorporate them into the PRC. Welcome back bayleaf, goodbye chicken.

Lmao
Russia should just disband.

An embarrassment of a country, led by one of the biggest jokers in the world.
You're not being serious with Russia disbanding are you? But man, this latest attack the Ukrainians is beyond an embarrassment for Russian military and it's "defense" that even it's own strategic bases are easily penetrated and attack losing valuable assets at the same time.

Obviously a joke, just wanted to highlight their stupidity.

Not enough words in the vocabulary to describe this shambles of a "special military operation"

A lot depends on which way the pendulum swings, as in if these regions start to align strongly with Europe and the West. Then time would be of the essence to act decisively. Sure offer them bribes if you want, but in the end the only way to secure those regions would be military bases and secure borders with the rest of Siberia. Most Mongolians hate China, so good luck with bribes. No, maybe start talking more 'buffer zone' rhetoric as is the want these days.

I don't even know what the bloody f..k the Russians are trying to achieve anymore. If they are this deluded that U.S. post-Trump can and will live up to whatever stupidity the Russians are trying to entertain then they deserve to get a spanking they should never forget and crater that country's arrogance into an actual introspection. They have been showering themselves with too much Jai Russia nonsense and coping with their embarassing military operations with nothing to show for it.

And if we're being honest I am not at all impressed with the current Russian military strategy and tactics.

The fact that they're slowly "winning" against a relatively weaker and smaller enemy shouldn't be a surprised tbh. But the fact that's it's taken them 3 plus years to make the gain they have with the size and shape of their much vaunted military is just an indictment of how the Russian military image and perception are built upon that country's past successes that have nothing to do with the current dog shit of a military they have at the moment.

I wonder what sort of excuses they are going to come up with this time around.
