In North Africa Feb1943 Faced off against Germans and the Italians led by Rommel and got their butts kicked in the battle of "Kasserine Pass" Up to then, things were going backward for the Germans and Italians after the 1942 El Alamein battles.
But correct me if am wrong but the German and Italian troops in North Africa under Rommel wasn't exactly the best troops amongst the Wemacht. The best and most lethal troops of the Wermacht were busy getting butchered and butchering the Red Army at the Eastern front. And there's part of me that thinks and feel that Rommel as good as he was (nicknamed Desert Fox) he's battlefield prowess has been embellished a little bit by Western/American hagiographers in order to prop up the American forces and General officers (Patton, Bradley) performances that fought against him in North Africa.

What new Sheriff in town?? The only Sheriff in town is the US. Thats it. China needs another decade to even start contesting that title

You think that China can run before it can first learn to walk.

IMO if China passes the 2020-30 period smoothly it will be able to contend for the "Sheriff" title, until then it should keep developing and dont make too many grandiose statements which it cant implement.

Sheriff in town means that his word is the law and nobody dares to break these laws. China can keep making noises but many many countries are making a stand against it. Contrast that with the US, which the whole world is afraid to cross.

Even Russia, Iran and N.Korea dont push too much otherwise they know that Uncle Sam can obliterate them (economicaly if needed)

Does the following alleged leaked behind-the-door discussions between bumbling Blinken and Ukrainians sorry excuse for a President recenf meeting looked like the U.S. is unafraid of Russia and Putin's resolved when it comes to Ukraine issue? I am not disputing the still considerable economic, political, and cultural influence of the U.S. but with respect to it's overhyped and overly priced military that respect or fear isn't there when it's up against a strong state like Russia in the west and China in the East. I have yet to read or be shown an American military superiority in combat resulting in winning actual WARS against actual capable states and not some 3rd rate banana countries or against a bunch of people that are largely farmers, goat herders, Opium growers a.k.a. Taliban.

Lol the U.S. can obliterate Russia? Since when? And it what way? Not conventional warfare and certainly not in nuclear because all of us would be dead.
Obviously economically. I dont know if you have noticed but Russia is doing really bad with its economy. US sanctions did a number to them

I am not surprised that the US is doing what they accuse China of doing by bullying other countries into favorable terms and conditions for the US in their country. That's how it usually works with the US is accuse China of doing whatever first so when people find out that the US is doing the same thing, it's not seen as serious as if because China did it first, it's all right if they do it when they've actually been doing it all along.

While the German troops that fought in Afrika were not as fanatical as their eastern armies, they were battle-hardened and more than a match for the U.S. forces and it was a very slow grind as they fought their way up Italy.

I reckon it's the other way around.

Even this small list of real industries should give a pause to any journo at best, in a worst case--this list is a good primer for the start of a serious cognitive dissonance. But, no. The spouting of this crap continues unabated, I can remind you another popular cliche--Russia punches above her weight. This is not just the issue of ignorance, albeit this too.
