I don’t know if anyone has mentioned this but there was a story that this whole reciprocal tariff idea from Trump came from artificial intelligence. The whole calculus… everything. That’s why Trump put a tariff on an island inhabited only by penguins.

The question is whose AI was he using? Remember how especially Republicans were saying DeepSeek was censoring Tianammen Square meant it wasn’t true AI and no should be using it because it didn’t work? Well whose AI was Trump using. It wasn’t DeepSeek. Was it Grok? OpenAI? People were talking how Trump’s reciprocal tariff formula was crazy. And you know Trump and the Republicans wouldn’t know of that island of penguins even existed to mistakenly choose it to tariff. So who’s flawed and broken AI thought it up?

It’s going to work about as well as last time.
I am thinking about a situation, imagine if Apple do move away assembly business from China, how likely will China allow Apple to sell devices in China?
2 points from Glenn Luk on twitter comes to my mind.
A - China's value add in Apple BOM is pretty low (around $40 per unit).
B - Apple has made more than $200 billion in profits from Chinese consumers in past decade.
----------------
So, if Chinese workers lose the assembly business, would China allow Apple to still profit from Chinese consumers? Not to mention, the likely hood of Apple's profits can go to Huawei/Xiaomi or other companies.

They will likely lose the Chinese market and the same time will have to compete with other Chinese companies for share around the world outside the US.

He probably saw it take off without an engine, but the hatches were already closed.

Apple has to enter real ultra high end market around the world to retain revenue, China could wait and see.

Sure, I will be planting trees like crazy too if I'm really panicking.

The reality of the matter:

Do nothing. Win.
