Don’t laugh till you read the contracts, as I would be amazed if there weren’t significant cancellation penalty fees in them. It’s possibly even more lucrative to the contractors to have the contracts cancelled than to actually build the wall.That's pretty much the story of Western countries. One party starts something, the next party cancels it, and nothing ever gets done.
This may explain why progress on the wall building itself had been so non-existent.
Basically all the people who got contracts for the wall were expecting the democrats to cancel the whole thing as soon as they were in power, so probably spent almost no money trying to build it and instead just sat back for 4 years waiting for this giant payday when they can bank god knows how many millions for literally doing nothing.
It’s what I would have done in their shoes.
