The chart is misleading.
Israel is an ally - as in, an equal partner.
South Korea is a vassal - as in, a servant.
I've often heard Koreans say the relationship is mutually beneficial and therefore it is an alliance.
But the relationship between a master and a servant is also mutually beneficial; it's just not equal.
