US drives Ukraine war measure through UN with Russian backing

Security Council resolution calling for ‘swift end’ to conflict deals further blow to western unity

A US resolution calling for a “swift end” to the war in Ukraine passed the UN Security Council with the backing of Moscow and Beijing in a vote that dealt the latest blow to western unity during Donald Trump’s presidency. France and the UK did not veto the measure, which made no mention of Russia’s aggression or Ukraine’s territorial integrity, but they abstained after failing in a last-ditch effort to delay the final vote. The vote highlighted how the transatlantic alliance that has underpinned European security since the end of the second world war has begun to fray as the US president takes a transactional approach to foreign policy.
Earlier on Monday, French President Emmanuel Macron met Trump at the White House and pressed him to pledge military “back-up” for European troops that could be deployed as peacekeepers to Ukraine if a ceasefire was reached. When asked if European troops would have American support, Trump said: “We will have a backing of some kind. Obviously, European countries are going to be involved. I don’t think you’re going to need much backing.”

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer will also meet Trump in Washington this week in an effort to ease tensions over Ukraine and to consult on US efforts to end the war. In another sign of the rapid rapprochement between the US and Russia, Trump on Monday said he was open to forging an “economic” deal with the nation’s president, Vladimir Putin, adding that the two countries had held “very good talks” over ending the war in Ukraine.
France’s representative, Nicolas de Rivière, explaining his decision to abstain, said: “There will be no peace and security anywhere if aggressions are rewarded, and if the law of the jungle wins.” Russia’s ambassador to the UN Vasily Nebenzya noted the US’s “constructive changes” in its position on Ukraine. He said Monday’s resolution was “just a starting point for future efforts towards peaceful settlement”.
Earlier on Monday, Ukraine and its European allies passed a resolution at the UN General Assembly, which included condemnation of Russia’s war in Ukraine. The US and Russia both voted against it.
France and UK folded like pussies during the real vote on the UN security council. European amendments to the bill obviously didn't get passed.

That hasn't stopped Indians from trying to appear as "Americanized" as their Jewish counterparts . . .

I'm sure you've heard of former US ambassador to the UN and failed presidential hopeful Nikki Haley a/k/a Nimarata Randhawa.

Though she's definitely better at the act than Vivek or even Bobby Jindal, who went out of his way to look extra "Americanized" in his official portrait as governor of Louisiana.

You aren't the first person to connect Jews to Indians. Aristotle said Jews were originally an Indian sect that migrated west.

The reason why Indians can't get away with what Jews do in America and Europe is because Indians are visibly different. A Jew can blend in, an Indian like Vivek and Sunak can't.

Let's be honest, if this actually happened the US would run it into the ground. The ASML machinery is purchasable by the US, the talent can be poached, and above all else the secrets can be stolen. The fact the US has tried and failed at all three to the point it imported an entire set of TSMC fabs to Arizona says enough.

It'd be like watching one neighbor steal another neighbors favorite car, then destroy it while stuck driving a day later. Regardless of what I feel of either neighbor, it's a terrible waste of a good car.
It would be like a guy strong-arming his neighbor for his car, except this dude can only drive automatic transmission but he's stealing a manual supercar. He has no idea how to operate it but he will definitely accidentally destroy the drivetrain and damage the engine.

The first issue will be American management and work culture destroying TSMC directly. TSMC's success is in its cutthroat culture that is considered slavery by Americans. The second issue will be keeping it innovative instead of resting on the research they already have. If American lithgraphy could innovate, they wouldn't be in the current situation now.

It'd be good for China because the biggest challenge to Chinese chips, which have the highest innovative momentum in the world, will be the combo of incumbent powers AMLS and TSMC. If either falter, the duo breaks and something else has to be formed. They were getting run down by China as it is; any setbacks and they'll fall behind, stay behind, and the distance will only increase from there.

So Bobby’s ambition is to become a White (Public) Servant?

I love USA because of the american ideals. Also, I dream of visiting the sequoia national park. I am a believer of the "american dream" as well. Of course, I would love to have more USDs, but if wealth was the priority, I would rather prefer monaco and luxemburg over the USA.
FAFO,FAFO,FAFO-who the hell are you anyways?WE are Redcard carrying Chinese wumaos-you're not.

Lmao. China rapid advancements in air power seems to be causing India to make desperate decisions. As China air assets modernizes and expands then maybe India will panic buy hundreds of F35s. Honestly sounds like India domestic fighter program is doomed into a perpetual state of stagnation.
Panic is correct-buzzwords for india seems to be ecosystem,ToT -none of which they will have-I hope the other countries remember the sordid saga of the Korean archery coach hired by india and then fired 1 week before olympics as the jaihinds hope to get all the glory and having others do all the real work before hand-typical
