LOL. Trump 2.0 on day one is already more sophisticated than Trump 1.0. Now I am more inclined to believe that Trump wants to visit China during his first 100 days in this version 2.0 MAGA trade war. Now following what I predicted in the part 48 hours, I may add:

(1) Trump will ask for massive purchase of US energy and agriculture products.
(2) Trump will ask for more and steady purchase of US treasuries.
(3) Trump will ask for more formal agreement on fentanyl.
(4) Trump will ask for JV of Tiktok.
(5) Trump will ask for help on Ukraine and Gaza.

I can bet Xi will agree to all of those. And there are asks from Xi ......

Taiwan will be muted.

The rest of the world will be in various stages of ......
The world is so crazy I think it's possible that Trump will literally just sell off Taiwan to China in exchange for something.

And while there will initial shock, it will be basically accepted without issue. After all Taiwan isn't part of USA anyway and in most people's eyes they can't be bothered to really see Taiwan as significantly different from China anyway.

No way Taiwan is getting sold off. The deep state will sooner assassinate Trump than let him sell Taiwan to China.

People should be very clear about this. Selling off Taiwan means the official collapse of US Hegemony (at least in the Asia Pacific) and more or less the official collapse of the American Empire as everyone will lose trust of it, militarily and financially

In exchange China will recognize Mexico and Canada as the 51st and 52nd States of the United States of North America

They still got Japan and Korea. Plus USA could ask for a huge pricetag like claiming ownership of massive countries.

"Selling" can take many forms, overtly or covertly, directly or indirectly. If price was right, Xi would take it. #1 creed in the Art of War. Trump just claimed to tame the inflation in his inauguration speech, and I actually want to believe what he just said on inflation and budget. In Trump 1.0 he pumped up S&P 500 as he promised, whether you like it or not the way he did it. In this version 2.0, S&P 500 is already at historical multiples, so targeting inflation and deficit would be a good political strategy. Suffice to say, Trump 2.0 needs Xi's help, and extreme pressure tactics may not be working this time around ...... So Taiwan may turn out to be a valuable bargain from Trump 2.0 standpoint, and I think Xi would be game if price was right.

"We cannot have a situation where we have paramilitary gangs that are shooting down aircraft with heavy weapons, controlling 30 percent of our neighbor"

Ironic he mentions that, because I'm specifically waiting to see cartels shred attempted American air assaults with the M82s and M2s that are more ubiquitous down there than burritos. We'll get to watch the Battle of Mogadishu on steroids play out dozens of times soon enough.
