I think i read b4 that bytedance has more western shateholders than chinese ones, like the founder(?) And a golden share by a state investor(?) Maybe thats the one west doesnt like?
It's possible that Musk and/or his friends are trolling Bloomberg and the Financial Times for shit and giggles.
Fortune Magazine recently made some ridiculous claims about X (Twitter), which they were forced to retract, and Musk subsequently taunted them about it ():
Musk is known for his distaste for mainstream media outlets, not only because many of them have communicated or implied negative things about him, but because he considers all of them to be the competition in general.
So there's a reasonable chance these unfounded stories were a result of Musk's friends, who are usually assumed to be able to speak credibly about him, trolling certain media outlets to entertain Musk and their mutual friends.
