Just another bot created to sow the usual western lemming talking points to try and stir the usual pot against China, but it's being pushed and amplified by the even more lemmings: the Jai Hind garden variety types.
Hearing Indians trying to kang as Mongolians or their relatives is real hilarious. You couldn't get more opposite. I mean Mongolians at least look the same as Northern Chinese and most of them live in China.

Hanlon's Razor would suggest that the reason is very simple: Americans, politicians included, are complete garbo at math. They can't even apply game theory, something they invented, better than the Chinese. See cases where the US was the first mover but lost out to the Chinese having more robust and sophisticated implementations; this is a consistent trend.
To add onto your thoughts. The people who become politicians in America and the west by extension tend to be the most reactionary and ignorant of people. The explanation of this is fairly simple, People who talk and boast the loudest about their enemies get promoted while officials who are more nuanced tend to be labelled Chinese, Russian, Iranian bots, etc, and lose out on any higher-level position. This starts a positive feedback loop where these officials then start promoting even more reactionary individuals and the process repeats. Said officials also tend to be very susceptible to corruption which further degraded performance and boosts them even further in their career.

The whole system is systematically flawed. No number of "smart" individuals will fix this as they will be immediately sidelined due to the reasons stated above.

An end of another era of splashing Chinese money on European luxuries.

I'm not against Chinese folks investing into French vineyards. But do it with respect, and with serious appreciation about running a winery. A Bordeaux Chateau should not become your holiday home, or a place to produce your own pet wine labels. Don't disrespect French winemaking heritage just as you demand them to not disrespect Chinese culture. It was a learning curve for Chinese investors, and it appears that they are learning their lessons.

The filthy rich people of China needs to put more of their money back into their country first. Luxury is a nice have, but they must first contribute to the CPC's mission of achieving common prosperity.

Foreign weapons sales to Taiwan is the perfect justification for the PRC to impose inspection requirements on cargo ships and planes going to Taiwan (divert them to mainland for inspection). Recall that Taiwan imposed 3 decades of naval blockade on ALL shipping to the mainland, which only ended in 1979 when the US switched diplomatic recognition to the PRC.

It's coming, hence CCG participation in the recent exercise, pretty inevitable at this point regardless what Taiwan does.
The more interesting question isn't cargo, it's people, if they also force all Taiwan air travel to go through mainland filtration...
