At end of the day it's objective reality that none of Saudi Arabia's US supplied modern weapons will work in a conflict with Israel, e.g. their F-15s would be unable to target Israeli jets assuming they can even take off.
Well to be fair, that's just an engineering problem for Saudis. They just need to retool and they could use those weapons just fine against US or Israel.

It would be a trivial thing to do for most major countries, maybe even middle powers like Iran or Ukraine.

That said, it's Saudis you're talking about. Theyve become lazy. The issue isn't revamping F-15, the issue is the mentality in the population not lending itself to struggle.

Russia says 'Nuclear Five' states to meet soon in New York

The big boys are sitting down to talk again, something is going to happen after, maybe restarting nuclear tests? I hope China have lots of nukes ready to test when it starts.
I think it might be more related to risk reduction in the middle east, making sure Israel doesn't use any of their illegally acquired few dozen nukes under any circumstance, and also working to manage whatever Iran will do with their illegal nuclear program.

resigned after leading the governing Liberal Democratic Party for three years while it was dogged by corruption scandals.

With the early election, Ishiba seeks to secure a majority in the lower house, the more powerful of the two chambers, for his governing party before the congratulatory mood fades.

The move has been criticized as prioritizing an election rather than policies and for allowing little debate. But Japan’s opposition has remained too fractured to push the governing party out of power, which it has held almost without interruption in postwar times" AP
