Military story thread

It's written quite well (coming from an aspiring writer/author) but I it's hard to keep track of all the names of missiles and fighters if you're not as familiar with the designations, and also to visualize the combat.

In terms of the plot itself... weeeelll... the kamikaze attack/mutiny and the ejection over the kuznetsov was pretty crazy, and the idea that the Russians could muster up an effective carrier battle group in 2014 is kinda shaky. And I think there is too much credit given to the supersonic cruise missiles.

As for damage control effort, no one likes to hear about firefighters! Asides from that, I didn't want to bore people talking about other people using fire extinguishers, although I could put a few lines like, "I saw my buddy mark on fire" to add some more emotions but I really wanted to get back to missile spam.

I understand your point of view however...Apparently you did not know that every sea going sailor from admiral to seaman serving at sea US Navy is a firefighter and knowledgeable in damage control. Fire at sea is serious business.

As for Prowlers/Growlers, if you want, I could always say that Su-33 shot em down prior to Missile spam

Not going to work..they'd just jam them.

No they cannot jam IR on an IR missile but they can jam that aircraft before they ever leave the ground. They they'd have to fly with visual references (VFR) only. That's not going to work.

Who's to say those ECCM pods won't do their job? In any case, that's what OLSs are for!
