maybe referring to the minimal heat signature + reduction of sound in the new engine design of the F-35. is that it?

I am under the impression that relying exclusively on active cancellation is a purely theoretical matter at this point in time. Ideas like plasma stealth just aren't effectively implementable in the near future. The main stealth feature of the F-22 is still its stealth shape.
