Just read on a couple sites that nsm missile test was a success from the Coronado hitting and sinking its target [moving] from over 100 miles sounds like a good match to me also what about the sea ceptor missile from UK for the AAW anyone know about this system

sounds like our government @ work the old saying hurry up and wait still applies but it looks like their at least trying some thing just seems like the nsm with essm missile weapons would fix almost anything this vessel will encounter still wonder what asw weapons that they may end up with time will tell

Just finished my 1/350 scale LCS-2 USS Independence. I added a 16-cell MK-41 launcher forward, aft of the 57mm gun. There is space there for the system which is sort of like the British "built for but not with," concept used on the Darings.

Would make a lot of sense and use the essm block2 plus the ram and 76mm gun should be a very useful ship may end up replacing harpoon fleet wide also looks like brass liked what they saw from the test @ least we can hope so

The Independence class already has provisions for a 16 cell MK-41.

With 8 cells filled with ESSM that would be 32 very decent self-defense missile out to medium range. I would keep the SeaRAM for CIWS too which means they now have a medium, short, and close in anti-air umbrella.

Then for ASM either the NSSM or the LRASM will wok from the Mk-41.

That alone would solve the Independence class ASM and AAW issues. The same can be added to the Freedom class to effect the same solution.
