Rumours only at this stage. PLA IFVs have advanced 3km and encountered resistance. The Indian guy who first fired have had his brain blown out (probably by sniper fire). Indian position captured, probably with fire support from UAV or long range artillery. Short exchange of fire, casualty numbers not yet known.

They can always spin it as China firing first if that's the case.
Damn your prediction is true.

Government sources have said warning shots were fired at the Chinese troops who opened fire at the Indian positions late on Monday night. The limited exchange took place along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh and the situation has been brought under control. The Chinese PLA, however, has issued a statement blaming India for the exchange and said “on September 7, the Indian army illegally crossed the line and entered Bangong Hunan, the western section of the Sino-Indian border”.

This is India's first successful hypersonic flight but no doubt very much an impressive feat. Mach 5 to 6 speed just gets it to hypersonic territory and there are many years between initial flight tests and weaponising it. China completed waverider scramjet powered tests in 2011 and only recently have shown it has hypersonic scramjet powered vehicles and unpowered waverider ordinance. That's nearly a decade and there is no indication how controllable the Indian test was, its range, its payload and size, type of trajectory etc. But it seems like India has stepped into the initial flight test stages similar to where China was not that long ago - a little over a decade if we consider the first Chinese self reported hypersonic tests.

Communication and guidance is going to be an even harder challenge. Judging by the size of the Agni booster, the HGV is extremely small. It'll be a tech demonstrator building towards HGVs that can deliver actual warheads. Certainly something to keep an eye on.

India's DRDO HGV test was reportedly powered for 20s. Unclear about how it rides shockwaves. Hypersonic wind tunnels have not yet been completed in India and Israeli IAI hypersonic wind tunnel was used by DRDO.

Damn. Everytime the BJP India is facing some kind of challenge to its rule,
some kinda stupid but serious military provocation must happen.

1) Doklam 2017. Indian economic crisis after the 2016 demonetization.
2) Balakot 2019. Indian election with BJP starting off relatively poor.
3) Ladakh dispute and Galwan clash, April-June 2020. BJP India just realised that Covid-19 have finally arrived in India big time.
4) Pangong Lake incursion, Aug 2020. India recorded 23.9% economic contraction.
5) Pangong Lake shootout Sept 2020. India recorded over 90k covid-19 cases in a day. A world record.

God forbid if there are really more bad news coming from India. Judging by how screwed India is with regards to Covid-19 and the economy. I think some type of escalation is on its way.
