Labelling users

Yes please stay respectful to other members of this forum, male or female. I sense that some of the posts here are on a slippery slope that could end badly. I don't want to lose anyone here because of one inappropriate joke.
Well and good, but what about the feature itself? In fact, I think SDF should just steal all of Reddit Enhancement Suite's good ideas.

I think labels would be worthwhile if it is strictly professional and is meant to help. E.g If there is a member here who is time and time again proven to be reliable as an insider or when it comes to certain topics like semiconductors/planes etc, then he/she should get a label that indicates so. This would greatly help new/old members here.

That's not what I'm talking about. These labels would be written and assigned by a user and visible only to that user. For instance, if I label a user X "troll", no one else sees that but me. That's just to remind me that if I encounter X again, he's not worth engaging with. Think of it like associating a note with each user you label.

IMO, any suggestions for enhancement should be within the context of the XenForo forum software capabilities. Otherwise it would have a slim chance of ever happening. Something as someone else suggest with public labels like "trusted semiconductor" etc is prob doable since people get assing public labels already

Seducer-in-Chief or Party Playboy label goes to @ansy1968

OMG!!! look at the love emoji @NiuBiDaRen bro she really digs you...lol

This is not directed only at you two, but at others as well.

Don't treat this forum like a "bro" forum please. That means no sexualized comments, gendered comments about women and looks, remarks about one's personal dating and relationship experiences.

If it feels too uptight and strict, then good. Striving to be a bit more professional has never hurt anyone and certainly never hurt this forum.

I don't really see the purpose of this feature. If a post is worth engaging with then that should be the case whomever it comes from, and similarly if it is not. Providing users with tools to more effectively "pre-judge" what others have written seems likely to foreclose opportunities for discussion and mutual understanding. People can surprise you.

I can see the suggested feature being useful for moderators to keep an eye on new posters, but for regular users it seems somewhere between superfluous and actively harmful. If one believes that certain posters consistently bring nothing of value to discussions, there is always the block feature, and of course the report button if the content is actionable. I'm not sure if there is a "follow user" feature to keep track of folks who consistently post interesting, informed, or thoughtful material, but I could see that being useful.
