So, there you have it. A complete two carrier strike group from the JMSDF.
With two carriers carryin 20-24 F-35Bs each, a very strong air wing could be deplyed for strike at sea, strong air cover over other task forces, or strike against ground targest as necessary,
I expect if China continues to build more carriers, we will see Japan build perhaps two more themselves. I do nt expect South Korea to go beyond the two Dokdos or Australia to go beyond the two Canberras...or, for that matter, India go beyond the three they plan. They will take a long time to get the thrrd one out.
But Japan definitely could field two more, and the US Navy, with its LHDs and LHAs could at any time turn 2-4 or even 6 of those into escort carriers, particularly f they develop and field the EV-22 and perhaps an SV-22 for ASW wrk.
The US Navy has already been working such goals and procedures into reality with the USS AMerica and some of the LHDs:
There are ten F-35Bs there, here are 14:
I have seen as many as 16 on the America and 12 now on the Wasp.
The US is working up to use its LHD and LHA vessels as escort or support carriers.
When you consider 4-5 large nuclear carriers, 2 or more escort carriers, and then as many as 6 to nine allied carriers in the Pacific, you end up with a force of nations who regularly exercise together that coudl easily field, between four or five nations as many as 15 carriers very quickly if necessary.
Again, if you get the chance, look at the youtube video below:
