Re: JH-7/JH-7A Thread

As China grows, Beijing will not only refuse to sell anymore weapons to NK, but also the technological gaps between both states will widen, making NK's military itself less and less capable of yielding these weapon systems competitively and taking full advantage of the potentials these weapons otherwise possess.

Odd to get this kind of conclusion with these facts.

Suppose the facts of "tech gap" between China and N.K is no-doublt, but what dose it good for, for "Beijing will not only refuse to sell anymore weapons to NK...."

I get the point that not many people around would actually LIKES NK, but politics is politics, it is not dominated by emotion. Whatever China selling to NK, which with a insanely cheap price, it serves certain political motivation after all - and the BIGGEST motivation, is that NK shall not die, nor turned into another pupet of another regional power.

I personally don't like what's the "half-god" has been cooking for his nation for ALL THOSE YEARS, either; but I GOT THE BIG PICTURE, like most of the Chinese citizens.

Specifically to THIS piece of news "&*# demands JH7", I simply considering ANY NEWS generated by the S.K., trash. (It is more "a fact", than "emotional conclusion", if you guys read often)

Re: JH-7/JH-7A Thread

Huitong updated his website saying that the JH-7B first prototype may have been constructed. Does it seem redundant to develop the J-16 and the JH-7B? The J-16 is going to be superior and cheaper to design. I would think the JH-7B would have been axed by now. Is it possible the JH-7B is an export-only strike fighter?

There is a picture that is supposedly a JH-7B floating around on Chinese forums. I can't use image shack on my linux. Could someone post the picture here?

The JH-7B, if it exists, sounds to me like a completely redesigned JH-7, like how the F-18E was to the F-18C. I doubt it will be for export though, there isn't exactly a market for this kind of aircraft and you don't work this long for a plane that few to one one will buy. Added to that the PLAAF needs more stealthy/semi stealthy aircraft, it makes no sense to export something better which you don't yourself have yet.

Are you talking about this?

No I was talking about a yellow-skinned variant (fullsized plane) someone photographed in Chengdu.

Wow so a real prototype then.
But Chengdu? Is XAC headquartered there?
Could you gauge how big the plane was, if the pictures were clear enough?

Could You provide the link where this photo was/is posted, so someone could upload it for You ??

But a photo from CAC surprises me ...

I'm not sure it's necessarily from CAC. I mean chengdu's a big place.

If this JH-7B is real and reaches the expectations of the pictures/models of it we've seen, then it's appearance could be almost as significant as the J-20's unveiling, in that it gives credence to a few other similar projects that are being worked on (SAC's J-18/19, CAC's J-20 lite etc).
