Two combat-tested (Operation Swift Retort) REK-83 glide bombs are mounted aboard a PAF JF-17 Thunder Block II.
The REK-83 glide bombs are stand-off weapons (SOW) and precision guided munitions (PGMs) made in Pakistan that can deliver a 1,000 pound bomb precisely up to 80 kilometres distant. The bombs can either be infrared imaging directed or GPS/BNSS guided. The REK-83IIR model is the one displayed in this picture. There are also in service versions with higher ranges of 120 km and 200 miles or more that use boosters.
