According to PAF Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman, the JF-17 Block III's design has been finalized (the project entered preliminary design phase in October 2017).
Judging from the fast pace of development and previous prototype assembly time frames, we could potentially expect a prototype by the end of 2018.

2 x JF17B Block II
2018 we see 12 x JF17A Block II
Total count 114 units
50 x JF17 Block I
62 x JF17A Block II
2 x JF17B Block II
Here come the unconfirmed rumours
PAF is looking to purchase up to 28 x JF17B Block III to mix with JF17A Block III
These will not be much different to JF17B Block II just delivered
But there will be a big difference between JF17A Block II and JF17A Block III
There is talk of a new engine
Overall this programme is gone from hot to roasting !! Wow the critics must be turning in their graves !

great, soon PAF will have 200 JF17A/B ... how many JF-17 series required by PAF? 250?

PAC goes all out in 2019,2020 and 2021 and completes 50 x JF17A/B Block III then keeps the line open for 2022 to keep the thousands of workers employed and retain skills then gets FC31 in ~2021-2022
New complex has been built at Kamra and the aviation complex has been established since 2007, there’s no way this was just for the JF17 programme alone
If PAF put in $500 million into the FC31 programme also PLAN weighs into J-31 this means SAC is in a very good position for their aircraft
Overall we keep going with JF17 until 5th generation arrives
