Does anyone know what the progress is of the block III. Some here say that the production will start around 2019. But if the changes on the block III is so substantial then the test flight period will also have to be longer. We know that the twin seat JF-17B is close to first flight as we know the construction of the planes prototype started last year. With the block III we don't know yet when the first flight will be. Even if it is this year it will still take several years of test flying before it could enter production.

Block III is not a redesign. Some changes from JF-17B would likely find their way into JF-17 Block III. A new Radar, new ECM suite etc... are not likely to require years of testing. As for training, there are simulators for that kind of stuff.

First flight is expected in 2018, with introduction later that year or in 2019. In comparison, the JF-17B is expected to both make its maiden flight and enter service this year.

If you think we have seen lots of serials think again!

New squadron due to stand up soon with Block II hope the resolution of photos is good so we can identify the "grey area" of 16-22x serials

JF-17 squadron consist 16 or 17 jets ... (16x5=80 or 17x5=85) we have already seen 16-232 & 16-233 so may be we have some more bird then the requirements for 5 squadrons ....
