JF-17/FC-1 Fighter Aircraft thread

A Taiwanese journalist who was led by a Pakistani Air Force official wanted to do a piece about the JF-17 Thunder in front of the plane in Paris. But ended up in a scuffle with an official from CAC. Who didn't want him there. I find this strange since China doesn't use the JF-17 Thunder herself.

JF-17 would be decent for Sri Lanka's budget and covers the whole of the island country quite well.

Though aside from countries with aircraft carriers the only country that can realistically threaten Sri Lanka with land based fighters is probably India. That and ship based threat which JF-17 should cover quite well with surface attack munitions?

Maybe because of the political entity that they represents. Awkward trying to sell arms when the reporter's presence points to unfinished business with the seller themselves.

There wasn't a scuffle; everyone was polite. The reporter asked if this was a free space, so he could be there and the officials said that due to political difficulties, please stay on the outside of the immediate area. He can take pictures from there. The most offensive thing said was by the reporter, who said something along the lines of, "I expected greater generosity from representatives of a large and powerful nation." It was quite civil.

This clip is adorable! The Taiwanese reporter approaches the CAC guy about a possible tour of the JF-17 and the CAC guy tells him to ask Pakistan. The reporter said that the Pakistanis asked him to ask CAC. So the CAC guy says, "Oh, I see. Since we are both Chinese people, he sent you to me." LOL Then, in the end, the reporter said that the Pakistani official, who was originally open and warm, became non-receptive after being advised by the CAC officials.

Anyone remembers how much weight DSI technology cut off from the JF-17? If I recall correctly weight savings were in hundreds of kilos.

Scuffle? I saw no scuffle.

I did see a discussion and ultimately an older gentleman came and clearly asked the reporter to move back or away. He was clearly fairly direct about it.

But they all seemed polite enough...and certainly no scuffle.
