The word from Chinese bbs is that WS-13 has completed the long duration test late last year on the engine testbed. This was on HKB, so we should see it on avic1 website pretty soon. WS-12 is still continuing.
It looks like WS-13 will be powering JF-17 for a first flight soon. Remember, this engine must be certified by 2010, so it looks like that will probably happen next year some point.

Due to the budgetary issue, Pakistan is reducing the number F-16's purchase. The country will not change the JF-17's purchase of 250.

但是美国国防安全合作局（DSCA）4月下旬表示，新合同价值只有4.98亿美元，另外18架F-16的出售完全泡汤；新的合同只包括18架F-16战机（12架F-16C Block52单座型和6架F-16D型双座战机），不包括零部件，也不包括附属设备。
巴基斯坦方面的官员表示，国际高油价和国内经济增长放缓使得最后的决定成为必然，“我们必须盯着每一个削减花销的机会”。

And that is because we trust China more than any one in world and also JF-17 has a long long way to go in PAF. PAF will eventually get much more in numbers than 250, it is just an intial plan.

I think 250 is probably near the upper limit.
As fighters increase in capabilities (BVR, more missiles, better radars, datalink), the total number of fighters you need drops down. Every airforce in the world is reducing its size and squadrons, including India. So I don't see PAF's desired fleet for next 20 years to be more than 400 aircraft.
Since we are currently building an F-16 fleet of ~75 aircraft, and since we will eventually buy ~75 J-10s, I would say 250 JF-17 makes sense.

Since we are currently building an F-16 fleet of ~75 aircraft, and since we will eventually buy ~75 J-10s, I would say 250 JF-17 makes sense.

I do not fully agree with that cause PAF had moments of less quantity and less quality and now has moments of better economy and new options. The fact that other nations decrease numbers has to do with:
-Their already huge numbers (see India/China/US/Europe)
-Costs... You just cannot replace every f16 with F35/Rafale/EF2000...
-Decreased insecurity (Europe)
Pakistani options are not expensive. JF17 is cheap, So is J10. The only bad cake is F16 block52. Probably it will be a good option since a lot of TOT can go towards JF17, hence export. I expect that PAF would go as far as they can go. Look how much planes ISrael has... And then compare the numbers...
