On the 3rd scanned page (page 30 of the issue), top of second column where they discuss the HY-2, and they comment that US Patriot missiles failed to shoot or even detect a single one! Can somebody with more knowledge say anything about this in light of the hitting if IDF Saar 5 in Beirut?

There are things in there that you might want to confirm though. It says that the H-6M (I think it's M) have 4 pylons for missiles. Unlike huitong- claiming it holds ASM/LACMs of the YJ-8 series -it says that the badger will be armed with the YJ-62.

We still haven't gotten the exact specs and pictures for the H-6M or the YJ-62, so this is still a big mystery in the air. (At least I still trust the specs.)

The YJ-62 missile that is shown on the first page, is very similar in appearance to the Babur missile of Pakistan.

A photo of the Babur missile is shown in the following URL.

I would think that Babur bares alot more similarities toward the Tomahwawk with reference to the Janes article regarding Babur. Also with regard to it being land attack (initially) rather then anti ship, i believe the inside workings are very different and wonder whether anti shipping one is being worked on.

Anyway, back to the topic... It seems China is very rapidly and successfully producing a wide range of missiles. We also saw the Israeli naval vessel hit by a Chinese missile or derivitive of a Chinese ASM. Whatever the inside story regarding that may be, it's very interesting.

Which Chinese aircrafts can carry PL-12? I understand that even the J-8F are equipped with PL-12 which will endow it with BVR capability.

well, the current ones are J-10, J-11B and J-8F (+ JF-17 if it ever joins plaaf). Although, JH-7A may have it sometimes in the future.

J-8H is also BVR capable, since it can fire PL-11 SARH missile.

Thanks for the information. Although slightly dated, J-8F/H seem quite cheap and yet effective platforms. I wonder why other countries are not interested.
