The so-called sidebay is a hatch for ease of maintenance. You can’t even fit a TY-90 in a bay that small.

The proportions may be wrong, but generally speaking, official media CGs don’t make many mistakes in structure.

Like I replied to you in the PDF, they do, they did before - maybe either intentionally, stupidity or ignorance or because the cheapest vendor to prepare this CG just has no clue - but there is no side-bay, PERIOD!... making people believe this is perhaps one of the reasons it was shown!?

Surprisingly, Shenfei’s official media Shenfei Fusion Media showed in the promotional video that the J-35 has side magazines and may be able to carry two .

Can you share the original link to the "SAC" video? I googled and baidued but found no where from SAC officially. Since this kind of media outlet is supposed to be for general public, I expect it being easy to be found. When I say official, I mean the video published on a weibo account certified as belonging to SAC, or a domain name owned by SAC.

The SAC media logo from your screen dump looks strikingly resembling to CCTV media logo. I am surprised that CCTV is ok with it.

I have also found the similar footage from Bilibili but without the logo here,

I can tell that it is easy to add a logo type on a video footage, but almost impossible to remove it cleanly without leaving noticable artifacts.


All these put together makes me wonder if the whole thing of "SAC media" is a fake news/hoax.

It is worth to note that FC-31 1st version does have a longer hatch/opening on the side than J-35 has. So the CGI in the purported video does have its inspiration from reality.

Here the hatch extended to the begining of the main wing.

CGI maker has no reason to make up a new model No. even when he has misunderstood the purpose of side-bay.

I hypothesize that there are two configurations A&B for both J31 and J35. B variant is about to be shown.

guys?!! Really? So they are developing the FC-31V2 into the J-35 - both without side bays - which is almost ready for serial production and then they upscale it to almost 1.3 the size with side bays capable to hold one dated Type 250 bomb each?!!

No idea about upscale, CG shows hold two short-ranged A2A, a new type half-sized I suppose.
