That was not the first sidewinders kill, the first kill was scored during the 1958 Jinmeng skirmish. Also, four AIM-9Bs shot down two J-6s... it seems that the sidewinders used by the ROCAF was way much better than the those in USAF inventory.
Like many other ROCAF aerial victories, the two 'kills' were not verified by PLAAF record of any sort. All four J-6s from the 24th fighter division, 70th regiment (2277,2279,2281 and 2274) survived the battle. BTW the date of that engagement was 67/01/13
