Wonder if the J-35AE would have WS-19s. Would China risk exporting its flagship engine tech (I know it's not technically flagship, that's the WS-15 currently but it's still pretty up there)
Hi,
I thought F35 export and the one USAF using is having same engine commonly in between by the way importers can’t do anything with engine technology at risk factor I agree with you in terms of electronics radar and computers etc etc
thank you

Look at the transition in the video. Hanger is the same one. What’s the point of dragging a separate plane over for a photo shoot?

It's not the same hangar.

Some speculation on a potential J-35AE?

Original poster:

Aircraft 0001, but the font of the serial number looks a bit off. Very strange. [thinking]
The canopy detonation cord is still the old style, and some of the sensor antennas used for testing are still there.
If we rule out post-production editing of the video, the nose has the English “AVIC” lettering painted on it, so it should be an in-house retained aircraft. Whether it could serve as a demonstrator for the wealthy Gulf clients is hard to say.

齐天的孙猴子 responds:

"J-35AE"

鼎盛大彪 says:

"This AVIC aircraft already appeared before the Zhuhai Airshow the year before last. [laughs] Too bad it wasn’t able to go."

伏尔戈星图 says it's J-35AE

(It might actually be four variants: naval, air force, export, twin seat or land based naval (??) )

Oneninety and 沉默的山羊 are also saying it is AE. Ayi reposted an AE comment with a cryptic joke, but he didn't refute the claim.

Now, most of these people aren't the highest in terms of info weight. It's also possible that all of these originate from the same source. For example, perhaps they're all in the same QQ groupchat with a true insider. However, the noise is noteworthy.

Typical PLA watching caution applies here. These people are at least one degree removed from true insiders, so I'm not sure why some people elsewhere are claiming the info is from insiders if they're either reading this forum or looking at the same Weibo sources...

Last year's India-Pakistan air war made some people a fortune, and now many people like to spread dubious information in order to speculate on stocks. This kind of information is what many stock investors like to hear.
Social media outlets, in order to cater to their audiences, are even more willing to amplify such rumors, making these kinds of messages extremely unreliable. AYI's information accuracy has always been criticized; he's also a proponent of quick wins and quick losses, so there's no need to over-interpret his statements.
