This report has spread throughout and lots of articles are claiming the J-35 has a RCS less than the palm of your hand.

But is the report talking about the J-35 or is it talking about it’s engine?

I.e. is it actually saying the engine has a RCS the size of your palm?

EDIT, sorry I just saw Deino’s request to not talk about this anymore.

Means that it is small enough to fit in your palm for the lay person. How small it is and in what radar bands is up to anyone’s guess.

Yes, but my question is more about what is it they are referring too? The J-35A or the WS-19?

I just want to clear up that they are not actually saying that the WS-19 has a RCS the size of your palm.

It's a report for a mainstream audience so it'll only be referring to the whole plane. Regular people aren't going to be interested in more detail than that.

Why would anyone think the RCS analog referred to an engine? A naked engine without being hiden in an aircraft is like a torch of EM rediator.

Because this is not clear to me…
CCTV reports: "Completely independent research and developed medium-thrust engine, MTOW close to 30 tons." "RCS is smaller than the palm of your hand"
