Give it another letter, obviously. Not like PLA has ever cared about confusing folks with its designations before.

Also, unless it's some monumental upgrade it probably won't get a new name at all, like how the J10C, J20 and J16 have gotten upgrades while nominally staying the same.

These days plane get so much incremental improvements. Only big alterations get letter change.

Well that's the rumour, but rumours can be wrong. J-35A was previously rumoured to be 耀龙 (Shining Dragon) before it was confirmed instead as 云龙 (Cloud Dragon).
