Seems earlier rumor about it would be an overall enlarged airframe is refuted. While the new prototype has some change, it doesn't seem to deviate too much from FC-31. Now I'm wondering does weapon bay layout remain unchanged.

We don't know yet. Need more pics with reference points.

I would be very surprised if the weapon bay was changed. The original bay was already utilizing pretty much as much space as possible. It was almost oversized for a plane of that class. That being said, I don't think it'd be in PLANAF's interest to shrink the bay.
At the same time, there's really no room to increase it either.

It's a fair sized bay, for 4-6 AA missiles. or, alternatively, 2 compact a2g/antiship missiles or large bombs. More than that would be unrealistic for a plane of this class.

I on the other hand thought the missile bay can afford to shrink a little bit due to having new folded fins AAM. I have been a little concerned about the aerodynamic impact of a large bay on a relatively small fighter (compared to J-20), it would bound to have worse area-rulings compared to J-20 and not having higher T/W to compensate.

Looks to me the hump goes a lot more forward than the rendering and is thus correspondingly much larger.

The nose should also be significantly bigger.

The distance between the intake lip and the wing root is also much shorter, signifying a much bigger wing and/or a LERX.

Grey radome indicates that they may actually have the radar installed. Shame we can't see the engine nozzles. I wonder if they used jagged treatment.

Either way Sun Cong made good of his promise that the carrier aircraft will fly before the end of the year. This is definitely NOT a simple FC-31 prototype as the cockpit is vastly different and the wings appear foldable, not to mention the addition of EODAS window under the nosecone! My guess for why they enlarged the hump, possibly at the expense of rear visibility, is to increases fuel storage on the plane.
