Not even ... looks like a simple model kit held against the sky !

Regarding these carrier-capable JH-7 rumours I must say I can't understand such claims.

First of all this picture with the missing outer wing section was once long ago discussion and IMO explained with much better reasons as a wing damaged by an accident, one removed because of unknown reason or simply (IMO the best expl.) it was the corner of the picture the sattelite made and on the next picture, the JH-7 was removed and so its outer wing section is missing. Weve seen similar "pictures" from GE-images in other places too.

Additionally if You look at the many mistakes the aothor made in that "report" I highly question his reliability ... he has no clue at all on that matters and finally to think that China is developing a carrier-capable version of an underpowered, much too heavy fighter-bomber of a late 1970's/ 1980s design is simply plain stupid.
To transform the JH-7 into a type capable to take off from a carrier there would be so many news required ... then its save to say one would better start with a clean sheet design.

关于四代机最近的一些消息 (内部人士透露)



好久没上线发贴了 因为前段时间工作比较忙 上级已经发达了死命令 科学家都在日夜的加班加点研究 突破我们还存在的一些问题 2个月之内 工作人员是不能进出的 也不能与外界联系 由于保秘原因 我只谈四代机进度方面

在四代机方面 4月6日已经搭配上国产的发动机进行测试 动力有所不足 加速方面还达不到要求 现在最关键的问题是在隐身系数上的问题 所内已经开了不少于5次大会来讨论 如果目前的方案失败 那么一切得重来 原型即动力外型都得重来 所以 目前研究所内的同志都在想办法解决 目前的这种方面虽然不是是好的 也算数一数二把

再谈外型方面 在尾部上做了很大的改进 目的是为了减小涡喷温度与喷射角度 在隐身材料上 目前已经不是问题 甚至超过国外 大家最关心的中国四代机的外型上 我现在可以透露下 是带鸭翼的重型歼击机

飞机的研制过程是非常漫长的 只有在不断的升级与发现问题后才能提高 还得使用2年不出问题 才能交部队 目前的总体进度已经达到80%左右 如果不出问题 预计在2012年 全部完工 2015年服役部队 时间成熟 我会发一些图片出来 但是目前还是处于二级保秘状态

舰载机相信不久就可以和大家见面了 我们现在自己研究舰载机 国产的某些飞机 外型基本都符号要求 但是最大的还是动力加速和载弹问题 我们自己也在研究弹射 已经弹射搞成功 那么 中国今后的舰载机一定是用国产了 这个是可以肯定的了 如果弹射进度跟不上 只能进口

本人也是个军事迷 我也经常来这里和大家交流 请广大的网友们多些支持 少些责备 工作人员是辛苦的 别的不说 光在一个封闭的环境中工作 从这点上来说 普通人都是吃不消的 相信我们会做得更好 再过几年 中国的四代机 一定会给大家一个满意的交代 一个国家不光有强大的武器 还有一个强大的民族

Basically says they were sequestered to work in secret for 2 months to prevent them from discussing developments with the public. They tested the engine on April 6th and are having trouble with the engine's output and acceleration (no surprise there), but the most pressing matter is the stealth of the plane. They've had five discussions on what they would do if they failed their objectives, as all aspects of the plane design are important (it's implied they refuse to sacrifice any of the requirements?), but they're taking it step by step. They've redesigned the tail portion of the plane to try to reduce both the dispersal and temperature of the exhaust. Stealthy materials are already not a problem (they could just be referring to RAM, but might also be referring to other materials used in the plane) and might even surpass that of other countries. I didn't understand the next part as well, but I think he says the return signature is smaller than a ducks. He then talks about the long development of the plane, including how they need to test the plane for two years without problems before it can be put into service, but mentions how it's already 80% complete. If all goes well the plane should be ready by 2012, and ready for service by 2015. When development nears the end, he'll release a diagram of the plane, but for now he needs to maintain a state of secrecy. They're also studying a carrier based plane and says a design will be ready soon. It would distinctly be a Chinese design and the requirements have already been laid out. However the problem remains the engine's thrust and acceleration. They're also looking into catapults and have already succeeded in a design. The carrier based plane will definitely be Chinese made--that's a certainty. If the catapult isn't up to par, they will import one.

The last bit's about how people should be more supportive and less critical since they're working so hard, etc.

Actually what he said was the design of it is a heavy fighter with "canards" (literally in Chinese means "duck wings").

according to all bloggers in key publishing forum, all agree that canard is not idea solution for stealth aircraft.
if China do retain the canard, this may indicate that they are not going sacrifice manueverity over stealth.

I am surprised words from forumers of Keypublishing forum can be taken seriously. Many forumer are full of bias and nationlism, I will not be surprised of bias against canard as USA current modern jet has no canard to mention.

Btw, your credibility has already gone down to zero. You can post your article at strategypage. They will be more interested in your posting. :coffee:
