They don't have to. They know that the average reader know nuts about military technology, especially that of some specific country. The important thing is write something that really sells, something that's the kind of stuff, no matter how inaccurate it's, you would expect your readers to enjoy reading.

All you need you to know about the credibility of this piece is:

1, The author Praveen Swami is a Telegraph Foreign Policy blogger who has next to zero defence-related expertise.

2. Swami is an ethnic Indian, a loud speaker for years in his Telephaph blog in advocating “Superpower India” and “Bad Commie China needs to be contained”.

3. In Swami’ world , India is second only to USA in millitary aviation industry, in which China desperately tries to catch up. What a joke that piece of crap of article is. India can barely produce LCAs haha which is least a decade behind the Chinese.
