A more serious guess would be maybe some sort of open day experience for school/university kids(maybe even a prize for doing well in exams - like the top few hundred in national science exams or something like that).

Show them around the unrestricted areas, maybe even a cheeky peek at some JF17s or J10s fresh off the assembly lines, all that sort of thing to get the kids interested in science and hopefully become China's next generation of designers and engineers. And when that happens for some of them, they will have a special place in their hearts for CAC because of this experience and be more likely to want to work for them.

BAE systems had a similar thing in the UK when I was studying my a-levels. Only they were sexist and only offered the chance to girls. One of my good friends went and saw the Typhoon manufacturing line and even had a joyride in a Tornado.

When I asked her how the day was, she said 'Meh' and didn't like it when the Tornado pilot did some 'loopy turny things'... I am as speechless now thinking back as I was then. :/

Its VIP transpo for party members to the Chengdu daily Air Show, I must be missing out on the vids, my desk top is back in the shop. LOL Yeah, your right wolfie, I joined the boyscouts hoping I could get a ride in a C-130, no such luck. I ended up having to hang around the airport to get a ride. I did see a stearman on a grass strip, I had my Mom's grocerys in the back seat of my car, I ended up helping the guy wash it. He was going to fly it after it was washed, he suited me up in a leather helmet and goggles, when we were about 2500' feet, he put the nose down and accelerated to about 140mph and did a big loop. No chutes, but I cinched my shoulder harness down tighter and gave him a thumbs up, then he did a snap roll, I think a nice big spin was next, then he wagged the stick for me to fly. It was a big stick, I was skidding all over the place, it needed a lot of rudder. That had to be my coolest airplane ride! I think you guys are on to something with the idea that theres lots of publicity for the J-20! This is a first to my knowledge for Plaaf, marketing 101?

Seriously, I hope that I'm not the only one here who believe that there have already been more than one J-20 prototype for some time now. This is something that has been discussed on the Chinese forums. Some say: The reason they are all painted as 2001 is that nobody could guess exactly how far the testing has gone by looking at the different numbers on the plane (analysis based on the frequency of appearance of each plane).

^ Well there's certainly more than one J-20 prototype. with CAC the second prototype, 2002 in this case, should've been built not long after the first/2001 and set for static testing.

The question of more than one flying prototype is another one altogether. I'm just hoping rumours of 2003 possibly flying this year do not turn up short.

At CDF some interesting images were uploaded. B-737 VIP transport has also arrived...

So whats the latest rumor on this? I can understand B-737 VIP transporting officials to view the 1st flight of 2001 but whats going on now?
