up, up, and away.
seems like the real testings have just begun. the stuffs we all wanna know about, starts now

I really wish someone snapped a picture of the takeoff. We could deduce a great deal about the plane's performance via the length and angle of the take off.

According to one of the eyewitnesses the take off length with afterburners is half that of the first flight. A conservative estimate would put that at around 350 to 400 meters.

Soo... what are the chances the PLAAF will be generous enough to demonstrate the J-20 at next year's Zhuhai like the Russians are doing with PAK FA at this year's MAKS? :D

A few years ago that would've been a crazy question, but a few years ago no one expected such clear pictures of the J-20 either. I think we've had more high quality pictures of the J-20 within these few months than the J-10B over the last three years...

Well, I'm not sure whether the J-20 will go to Zhuhai next year, but I feel certain that such level of openess will continue and go up.

Yes ... but again the most intersting part of thee tests will surely be done later at the CFTE in Xian-Yanglian and no longer at CAC.

However "... but of greater special interests for military enthusiasts and foreign analysts within the next months would be to see how many flights will be done at which rate, how many additional prototypes will CAC get into the air and finally when will the definitive powerplant be mature enough." (from an update-report to be in the next CA-issue)

Did he mention about the colour of the afterburner?
