I agree that it is a P.S. but I think that the artist wanted a mirage effect. You can definitely tell that it is a PS since the lighting on the J-20 differs from that of the background.

And I agree with others, it is ridiculous how close people can get to this facility and observe it. And what's stopping foreign spy from taking measurements on the J-20?
I mean, the J-20 flew so close literally just meters above the spectator's head, someone could probably just measure J-20's radar reflectance with a hand-held radar!
Okay maybe quite a bit of exaggeration, but I am sure CIA/DIA (Defence Intelligence Agency) probably had some people on the ground with miniturized high tech radar disguise as a camera and record all the preliminary measurements.

Seems to me that it's dangerous to flight test an aircraft close to a built up area? Seems like already operational
There is a good chance that most of the test flights had already been done at Yanliang. Maybe PLAAF is just doing it for show.

At first I figured it could be just a mirage but then I reasoned mirage don't produce white waves. The fact is the pictures are showing otherwise. Mirage does give the illusion of white waves.

I wonder if someone high up gave the okay for some of these high quality images coming out of not just the J-20 but others too that have been coming out. There's some of the best quality pics of the Varyag out now with the APARs installed.
Now they just have to have a photographer take great shots of the J-20 from the air. I would love to see a frontal shot in flight with gears up.
