Yeah, it's a little ridiculous to think the USAF would settle for a front line fighter at that expense, that needed to stay indoors on a rainy day... XD .

I have heard that because the ram is iron-based it rusts in the rain. The F-35 uses a simpler and more modern ram.

Maybe someone can bust this myth, or confirm it.

from Air Force association:
The F-22 is an all-weather fighter and rain is not an issue. The F-22 is currently based and operating in the harshest climates in the world ranging from the desert in Nevada and California, to extreme cold in Alaska, and rain/humidity in Florida, Okinawa and Guam. In all of these environments the F-22 has performed extremely well.

Don't tell me some have never heard this story of the RAM layer being damaged by rain. They say that's in part why the F-22 maintenance costs are so high.

You are going to trust WP over the AFA?
I have a picture where the crew wash F-22 with pressurized water. Can't imagine why they'd do that if it would "rust" or "wash away" the paint

High pressure water hose isn't the same as flying through rain.

Addresses these:

Yeah, it's a little ridiculous to think the USAF would settle for a front line fighter at that expense, that needed to stay indoors on a rainy day... XD .

Plus, a high pressure hose will put out more kinetic energy than flying through rain in the given area.
If you look at the picture, the hose maintains a relatively tight stream.

Further, answer my question, are you trusting WP over AFA?
