The entire rear edge of the canopy is slightly elevated by design.
Have a look at other rear aspect photos, and you will be able to observe it.

Because you can never fully flush a joint so long as it is a joint, there is always gap. Why plain physics so difficult to grasp?
You either have the under side fully flushed with the upper side standing on top of it with a thin gap, like what you show in J-20.
Which also exists in F-35's front side of canopy.
Or you have the under side sunk with the upper side sits in with a thin gap like F-35 here.
I think you and many people who are obsessed with the build quality of J-20 have set the conclusion first (US is superior in everything), then you look for evidence to prove your conclusion from every detail of J-20 but ignoring the same details on F-35 and F-22. In doing so, you always succeed in convincing yourself and will never get away your OCD.
Canopy raise and lower on a back hindge, a gap however slight is needed. I believe that is part of a flexible overlaying flap strip.
