C/SiC is Carbon fiber, just better than the one in your mind.
The following photos are sealing petal of TVC engine (WS-10TVC). It is the one directly in contact with the hot gas. What you are seeing on J-20 is the out most covering petal whose working condition is even less demanding.

They are probably ceramic based composite (CMC) that can be in direct contact with hot gas.
Also worth to note that, the finished product of CMC may look almost identical as metal, see the photos in #5,931

Yes I know they had it in the display from last year, but didn’t notice that the J-20’s engines had the same petal materials.
those are not what indication as 'carbon fiber' but more like a 3D print mark
3D printed metal parts typically receive a finish, and depending on printer resolution will tend to have a graduated pixel pattern in the direction of deposition, not a weave pattern.
