Yes, which makes me think that it is the luneburg mount. Yankee leaked a while back that the luneburg lens is retractable.

In other news, another WS-10 equipped J-20 has been spotted near the CAC facility yesterday. Guess they are working on another batch.

It could be just a different type of radar reflector. Why would someone airbrush out the luneberg lens but leave tale tell mount in place?

The black coating is likely for edge treatment (i.e.: between panels, doors etc) to further mitigate their RCS returns.
