Yep...
Late March or early April.
Most of China should’ve recovered from the corona virus outbreak by then.
Assuming no J-20As with WS-10s in service colours already exist.
Let's remember here that the first blurry pictures released of production J-20As was from mid last year.
We don't know how long the delay between new aircraft rolling off the production line to getting pictures of them are.
We also don't know how long the delay between new aircraft being delivered to the customer and getting pictures of them are.
And for both of the above, we don't know how long the delay between those events and having pictures taken of them are.
But based on past experience they can be fairly long.
In other words, I think at this point we should fully reject the idea that getting pictures of a certain aircraft in certain colours or getting pictures of them in service with the customer at a certain moment in time is representative of it actually happening in that time.
For all we know it may have been many months when an aircraft was first painted in certain colours or delivered to the customer, but PLA opsec means we only get pictures of it much, much later.
In fact I think this should be the default assumption for most if not all PLA new tactical aircraft developments and production.
Exactly, its a guessing game even in the best of times, but we do our best to keep information relevant and accurate....
Also it seems as if the first grey WS-10-powered J-10Cs were spotted already in July last year and we still haven't seen any operational one:
