I can imagine that it is the air flow. Missiles have to be forcefully pushed downwards before leaving the rack, otherwise the high speed air flow will blow it up and hit the wing or fuselage. The lauch rack (in IWB or under the wings) has such pushing devices. There is no room in the wings for such devices to eject the launch racks though. It is almost impossible.

example of free-falling launches hitting the aircraft.

And they use two ejectors, one at each end to keep the object being launched as level as possible. It is definitely possible to make the ejectors hinge like a control surface rather than travel vertically like ejection pins. That would make it easier to fit them on the wings. Should that be a big hassle, they can be engineered into the hardpoint itself itself rather than the wing. They can maybe use pogo pins to draw power from the wing, or a pneumatic system with a small air tank onboard.

More high-resolution close-up images. The first one shows a control console for the ground crew that manages various electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical functions of the plane, such as the parachute deployment door, chaff dispensers, the canopy, weapon arming states, etc.

The second image nicely shows off the seals applied to the gaps of movable panels.

The fact that the PLAAF allow such close up photos of the J-20 suggests to me the newer Chinese stealth aircraft such as J-36 and J-50 uses substantially different surface radar signature treatments than the J-20

I've been hearing claims lately about a J-20 traversing the tsushima strait without being detected. How credible is this?
it can be confirmed that the j-20 has flown across the tsushima strait, whether it was detected or not is unclear, though i believe it wasn’t.

From patrol missions in the East China Sea Air Defense Identification Zone to forward deployment over the Sea of Japan and flights across the Tsushima Strait, the squadron's pilots have engaged in multiple intense confrontations with foreign military aircraft. These actions powerfully demonstrate their unwavering resolve, steadfast determination, and formidable capability to defend national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The final paragraph of the original text places the crossing of the Tsushima Strait alongside multiple intense confrontations with foreign military aircraft—this is indeed a possibility.
