Having new supply of Russian engines does not seem like a motivation to draw a picture, let alone pose them in the foreground. I have become conditioned to seeing drawn pictures or caricatures to indicate new things.
And what if the new thing isn't the engine, but the airplanes? (That's the angle my first post was coming from, anyways).Having new supply of Russian engines does not seem like a motivation to draw a picture, let alone pose them in the foreground. Hard to tell which engine it is from the drawing but judging by the interior of the nozzle my guess is they’re AL-31s. The graphic could be implying that we’re about to see a ramp up of J-20 production. May also be implying that if J-20 production hasn’t ramped up yet it’s because airframes were waiting on engines.
Much of the information (maybe everything, I can't say for sure) is sourced from pb.

What exactly is a folded-fin PL-12? Never heard of it.
The caption in the upper right is in the form of a conversation between two individuals, which I will translate below:
I'm not certain what these engines are, probably WS10 variant(s)?
Based on the drawings, what do you guys think?
