WS10B is more likely.
why?
WS10B is more likely.
Just thought that WS10B is much further along the development path, so likelihood is higher.why?
Probably not paint but different material. It's tough to tell if DSI bumps size changed for bigger or due to the illusion of the new paint. Maybe we have to wait until more high resolution pictures released to be sure just like the question mark on the black color engines.

Keypublishing is a place where once in a while I get to pick the minds of those who know more than me. The hope is if I can share what I know about the history of China's aerospace program they may explain why they draw certain conclusions about certain designs, or else change their assumptions and elaborate new conclusions. I have learned much from this give and take over the years, and sometimes I learn enough to look back at my own inquiries and understand how the presumptions that underline them may be naïve, incorrect, or even foolish. Once in a while its also fun to rhetorically kick around people who assert claims without any sound arguments. I only regret that I have been unable to reach the level of understanding that lets me engage better with professionals and experts better before most of them left the board.OT.. you make some nice posts on keypublishing forum rebutting those guys regarding J-20. It's like you are giving them a history lesson on J-20 and Chinese engine development over there.
But it seems like the more knowledgeable Chinese military watchers like Bltizo and plawolf and tphung hardly post there anymore. You and Deino are the only few left over there.
Except for the color and apparently pointy tips of the petals the dimensions and shape of the engine look like Al-31s. Ws-15 is highly unlikely. I'd expect to see it flying on a tested first before we see it installed in a J-20.I hope there won't be any first flight for 2016 for the next week or two. All I want to see is 2016 keep doing the taxiing on the runway again and again for a while.
Because that will probably meant 2016 is using new engines be it some variant of WS-10 or WS-15. If it was good old AL-31F, you don't need to keep taxiing again and again to test the engines.
