I believe that you.are spot on here, as the inlets were no doubt optimized for the AL-31s on 2011.

We actually do not know if the inlets in the 2011 are optimised for the AL-31s, given that there are significant differences between its and that on the 2001.

Someone do please start a China's Wind Tunnels thread!! I've read so much in piece and bits about China's gigantic wind tunnel groups for the last couple of years. I think I do need some cool-headed discussion on this subject and determine where China stands in such developmen.

Yes, and I would love to be a mouse and see the blue smoke on the J-20, not cause I'm a spy or nuthin like that, but because I am the AFB, I'm not real sure on this bird what the airflow really does, I do have a much better idea thanks to the Eng.

Of course "WE" don't know, I didn't say "WE" did, that's why as the AFB, I included this affirmation of the brothers "observation" . So while "we" obviously don't know, its patently obvious, that the inlets where reshaped and reduced in size to optimize airflow over the airframe and airflow through the Al-31s????? Will they retain these same inlets, when they do put the WS-15 in the airplane, which they will when it is ready, I rather doubt it, because the WS-15 will flow more air by volume, hence I would expect the intake to be at least slightly enlarged... this would lead us to believe at least for now the AL-31s or even WS-10s will be the engines that power the next 2-4 years of J-20? are there possibilities of the F-117s, uuummmmmhhh, maybe? don't be offended, I am after all the "Brat". Just think about it a little bit, I've been watching these things for a long time. :p:p:p

You are a bright lad, and you are on the right track, keep asking questions, I do, and I am often surprised what I have learned here on SDF.... glad to have you on board as well bruda!

Yes they are.

High-resolution versions (3968 x 2232) of your photos have appeared:

Well I was actually talking about new photos if we go by 2011 and 2012. Usually thumbnails and bad quality pics first emerge. Then flying in the distance before the bad quality close-ups show up and then comes the better shots. I don't consider these good shots because of the lighting.

Also I have downloaded the high quality resolution pics. Photobucket downsizes when I upload them.

Use imgur instead! :D

Or surely there should be a way to upload them to photobucket without resizing them.

Thank you AFB for your kind words :D

I do think it is a little over optimistic to expect the WS-15 to come out in trials this early, and even if it comes out on trial, it would most likely be on a proven airframe rather than a new design like the J-20. And your explanations makes a lot of sense as well.

It was just a little conspicuous in terms of the location of the mark that appears that the person who posted the pics wanted to hide something. More than likely it is nothing, or nothing really special. May be it was a combination of the first grainy picture of the 2013 in distance that gave (possibly an optical illusion) some vague impressions of two engines not looking the same, and then the follow up with the mark covering the very location I want to check that had raised some suspicion in me.

But I do know as well that, all other evidences and analysis points to there will be nothing special underneath the mark. It does not matter what-so-ever if I am right or wrong, the important thing is that I learned something afterwards---and that is certainly true everyday when I read this forum.

Well I've looked for some setting in photobucket but could not find. I switched over to photobucket from imageshack because someone here recommended it for this site since some countries block certain photo sharing sites.

Use flickr. It has no bandwidth limit and free storage is very generous.

Partially, photographer's ego, partially his (c). I call it "Pinkov protection". Nothing more than that in this case.

Yes, he's also the one who puts the same sign on each and every recent J-10B covering up the serials :mad: !!
So he MUST know the true numbers and given how close he can get to these birds he surely has tons of better images as well.
