I seriously laughed to myself upon seeing the phrase 'strike bomber'
And then I went to check my calender. Oh turns out it's really 2014, not 2011
Guys, enjoy![]()
You have been stressing that J20's main weapon bay could only carry 4 missiles for air combat, and that you feel 'disappoonted' or 'ashamed' or whatever.
My point is, evidence please?
I TOTALLY CALLED IT. Bleeds or vents.
Not one bit...unless they're specifically used for controlling boundary layer ingestion and managing total pressure recovery, which is really no guarantee. Honestly, I have no idea what those bleeds/vents or whatever are for, but I suspected that that's what they were when they seemed to be barely visible in some pictures but really visible in others, which could have been explained by some kind of mesh structure, which is what we ended up getting. Interestingly enough the two hexagon meshes don't have the same sized holes, which implies there's a design intention there for something. This could be indicative of some kind of function related to the aerodynamics of the inlets, but whatever that does should be obvious to someone with more expertise, whatever that is.Sorry, I'll try to clarify. I only said I wanted to see if the J-20 could match the F-22's payload for air-to-air before considering other roles because no_name asked about multi-role. I never stressed any numbers.
Is this related to the multi-thread war about the J-20's so-called DSI speed limits?

Oh my god, you mean there's an image THIS clear of 2011 out there?! Please, have mercy!![]()
