aybe again I'm reading to much into it, but so far there ii per my understanding no permanently assigned J-15 unit in the STC ... this post now suggests it however:

"A naval aviation unit of the Southern Theater Command extends its sincerest New Year's greetings."

So are these just J-15s deployed to Lingshui NAS used as a background-placeholder to send the seasons greetings or has the STC finally a permanent J-15 assignment or was maybe even one of the remaining NA Brigades within the STC (aka the 8th NAB) re-equipped with J-15? (IMO unlikely)

PS from a friend:

I came across a discussion on Weibo and have gained a rough understanding of the matter. It's quite interesting—if I've grasped it correctly—that the J-11BH fighters stationed on Yongxing Island have been transferred to the Naval Aviation University, while some of the J-15s replaced by the J-15T have been reassigned to the unit on the island. That is to say, these J-15s were deployed as land-based fighters.

If this is true, then it would fit to the idea, the "former" (?) 8th Naval Air Brigade at Yongxing Dao/Xisha flying J-11BH & J-11BSH got J-15!
Regarding the (?) behind the "former", for most NABr we have almost proof for their transfer to the PLAAF, only for the 8th I have no proof.
