Non-folding wings? Maybe if they had folding vertical stabilizers so they can be stacked two-deep vertically.

J-15 block-II is not J-11BS or any other existing model. It would be twin seater where seats are side by side, wider fuselodge, larger fuel carrying capacity and heavier weapons load. PLAN is looking for to use it on EMALS bases deck and experimental tracks. It would be used from coastal defence locations also.

It would give them an advantage in range and per sortie loads.

China is aggressively experimenting the EMALS.

In experimental aircraft carrier CVN-17 (or CV-17)

Just a hint like "Actual secret stealth fighters of China" was revealed much earlier than J-20 flight testing. Current prototype of J-20 is very similar to that information.

It looks like the J20 shown to the world is a head fake the real J20-X program is more radical and we have the first artists rendition based on secret photos shown to us. The J20 shown “leaked to the world” is a low tech aircraft that is being put out there by the Chinese military to freeze the current thinking of the US military while they blast ahead with a more radical and capable design!

first off, how is that photo that shown in the photo a 'more' radical and capable design? It looked like an artist gone crazy or a production straight out of Startrek or Starwars. Next... are you going to say, the Chinese would armed that aircraft with plasma cannon, laser cannon and missiles is a thing of the past?

Second, the Chinese are getting richer... but believe it or not, they do have a budget and their pocket is not indefinitely deep, so to even suggest that they will throw an 'low tech' but fully functional and flying thingy to 'freeze the world into the current thinking is nothing short of lack of common sense.

Third, an aircraft no matter how stealthy or high tech, still need to fly, right? So why, until now, no one actually seen anything? Do you actually think the West, US, Russia, even Japan and whoever are really... er... blind? Or do you think the Chinese actually come up with an invisible aircraft (both to naked eyes and radar) that they could test fly these beasts without anyone even knowing that they exist... anyone except you, that is.

Oh... and by the way... have you heard of April Fool?

That is a big missile.

A J15 can probably take off with it on a ski jump, but it would need a top up from a tanker almost as soon as it is in the air. I don't think it would be an effective loadout without CATs.

Also, that missile is on a one-way-trip as soon as it leaves the deck, CATs or not, as I doubt it would allow the clearance for a arrested landing with that thing hanging under the fighter. So, if the pilot doesn't shooting if, he would need to dump it before he can safely land on a carrier.

Maybe if the fighter carrying it diverted to a land base, they could recover the missile, they may even do that a few times as proof of concept tests, but that's again not a practical real life operational scenario.

Not sure about the need for tanker given Su-33s should be able to take off from a ski jump with near MTOW (a matter still up for debate of course), but obviously they would not be returning home on a carrier with the missile still hung underneath

If or when they stick that thing on a flanker, it won't be as an option package. They'd only be equipped for kills.

Agreed. The notional loadout seems to be pushing the Kuznetsov's ski-ramp payload limits, but on the other hand I wouldn't be surprised if land-based or future catapult-capable J-15s use this configuration on a frequent basis.

I actually disagree -- I think it makes sense for J-15 to be able to carry the PLA's most capable air launched anti shipping weapon. If Su-33 can carry a moskit, I don't think there is any reason J-15 can't carry a YJ-12.

I have never seen any picture of, or heard of any a report of an exercise off of the deck of the Kuznetsov with an SU-33 carrying a Moskit.

The only load-out pictures of SU-33s on the carrier we have ever seen are A2A loadouts.

I bet we will not ever see a picture or exercise of a J-15 taking off from the Liaoning carrying one of large Chinese missiles.

I am not talking about what their capabilities may be from land based operations. I know of one static picture of an SU-33, at an airfield/air show with a placard in front of it showing a Kahont and a Moskit...but never have seen one fly with them even from a land base.
