'hunter' is likely a mistranslation of the French word for 'fighter' which is 'chasseur' i.e. an abbreviation for 'avion de chasse' aka 'fighter airplane'.

A lovely Fun video, flying against your own is a thrill, we get a sense of "contact" with reality in this type of training, no doubt you can get "cotton mouth", flying this aircraft off that ramp and bringing them back aboard this boat, amazing!
