Just a question, but per my understand a lot of the recent imagery showing J-15S, the J-15T and even j-15B is from a new movie, but
does anyone know the name or title of this movie? ... or if it is available online somewhere?

Forgot to post this one: #571 the first J-15T demonstrator

Here is the movie ... it is a TV series and be warned - it has a very lame plot and mostly uses FX imagery - but it included indeed the real images.

So, be warned ...

I am watching this show, right now at Episode 10. I would say very interesting and must watch for any PLA enthusiast.

Yes, its full of slogans, patriotic fervour and bad CGI. But it also shows footage of actual J-11 and J-15 planes on the ground. It also has interesting historical story about how the first Test flight air base is setup for the Chinese Carrier force in 2009. This group then conducts various tests to see how the J-15 performs, takes off on the carrier and so on.

In my current episode, they are doing J-15 test with the actual blast deflector on the ground. It also showed ground staff learning signals from US carrier videos. I am expecting they will eventually show actually pilots learning take-off from the angled deck and landing using arrestor cables.

There is also an underlying story about Pilot rivalry and who is the best pilot between Air force pilots who transfered to the flight test group and Navy pilots. Its very Chinese style Top Gun.

Ignore the fluff, bad acting, slogans and enjoy all the Flanker footage in a Top Gun style show.

Is that a tablet resting on the left leg? Anyone know what the use cases for it are during flight? I sometimes see pilots carrying notebooks in videos. Are tablets being used in the same vein?
I believe the tablet is serving the same purpose of paper map/checklist etc. Like these

I think flexible OLED pad would have more meaning here than in a mobile phone.

Interesting, a bit old-fashioned compared to contemporary chinese flankers.
~su-27sm1, though very different style of course.

The actual displays are CGIs/inserted afterwards, but the cockpit configuration is accurate and consistent with what we know about J-15's cockpit which is basically the same generation as J-11B. I.e.: a bit older than the likes of J-16 and J-10C (let alone J-20s).
